THE PEOPLE'S TRUST

In light of the recent tragedy in Sandy Hook every politician in the country is racing each other to author legislation to usurp the people’s right to have firearms.

While my heart aches for those families that lost loved ones I believe that every politician, who swore an oath to uphold the Constitution; that votes for gun control should resign their positions or be impeached.

Those politicians who argue against assault rifles and high capacity magazines on the grounds that these weapons are not necessary for hunting and recreation need to go back to school and study U. S. History. 

The 2^nd Amendment is NOT about hunting or recreation.  It’s about THE PEOPLE’S right to protect themselves against a tyrannical government!  The very fact that our politicians are trying to control our guns is the very reason we need them!

The Constitution of the United States was not drafted and ratified out of emotion and it should not be challenged or changed because of emotion,

We somehow feel that the lives of children are more precious than the lives of adults, but that just isn’t true.  A human life has the same value regardless of age.  While the innocent lives that have been lost over the years to gun violence is appalling; that number pales in comparison to the hundreds of thousands and perhaps millions of lives that have been freely given by American Patriots over the last 236 years in defense of the Constitution and our freedom!

At this moment in our evolution as a country, any and all efforts to control guns would be better spent on controlling criminals and the mentally ill.  Politicians who want to address gun control as a solution are taking the easy way out and avoiding addressing the real issue.  Our society is unraveling because we do not care about each other anymore.  We do not assign responsibility and then hold each other accountable for their actions, especially those actions of our legislators.

Our government would rather give billions of dollars in foreign aid to countries who despise American ideals and who sponsor terrorism than spend that money funding programs to help the mentally ill in THIS country in order to stop this needless violence.

Every single incidence of this nature has been perpetrated by individuals that were known to have psychological problems prior to the violent act.

Once again, every politician who violates their oath of office to uphold the United States Constitution needs to be impeached for dishonoring their posts and betraying the confidence and the trust of the people.
